Please read these terms before signing. By ticking the box and
signing, you accept them for this approval.
1. Consent to sign electronically
You agree to sign this document electronically instead of on paper. You do not have to
sign electronically — if you would prefer to sign a printed copy, close this screen
and contact the office, and the approval will be arranged another way.
2. Legal effect
Your electronic signature has the same effect as a handwritten signature on a printed copy
of the same document. Once submitted, it forms part of the record of this approval.
3. Who is signing
You confirm that you are the person named on this approval, or that you are authorised to
sign on their behalf, and that you are not signing on behalf of anyone else without that
authority. Do not let another person sign using your account.
4. What you are approving
You confirm that you have read the details shown on this screen — the parties, the
premises, the term, the amounts and any documents linked from it — and that they are
correct as far as you know. If anything is wrong, do not sign; decline and tell the office.
5. The record we keep
When you sign, we keep a record of it: your signature image together with the date and
time, your account reference, the device and browser you used, your network address and
the version of these terms you accepted.
The stored copy of your signature is encrypted on our servers using AES-256-GCM,
and it is kept in a form that lets us tell whether it has been altered — if anything
in it were changed, it would no longer open rather than opening as something different.
Where your signature is displayed back to you in this app it is watermarked with your
account reference and the time it was viewed, and the underlying file cannot be opened
directly from the web.
This record is kept as evidence that the approval was made, and to protect you as much as
us if it is ever questioned.
6. Copies
You can view the signed document from this app at any time while your tenancy is active.
Ask the office if you need a copy in another form.
7. If something goes wrong
If you believe an approval was made without your knowledge, or you cannot access your signed
documents, contact the office as soon as you can.
